Science Foundation Ireland - Curious Minds Award

The Curious Minds Award is part of Science Foundation Ireland’s Education and Public Engagement Programme, which aims to increase interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) among students, teachers and members of the public.

We are proud of the fact that we have received the previously known as Discover Primary Science and Maths Excellence Award each year since 2005 as a result of our whole school approach to the STEM subjects. The consistent focus on this curricular area is also reflected in our whole school standardised maths tests results where overall scores are well above the national norm.

We participate in many other yearly initiatives to promote learning in STEM subjects - Examples would include Maths Week, Science Week and Engineers Week.

Platinum Award Winners 2024

Our school was one of 30 schools in Ireland to win a Platinum Level Award in the 2023-2024 academic school year.  As a result of this amazing achievement for our school, we had the pleasure of welcoming Minister Patrick O'Donovan of Fine Gael and Dr Ciarán Seoighe, Deputy Director General of Science Foundation Ireland to our school.  We are very proud of this fantastic achievement for our school community!
